About Doctor Who
Doctor Who is a British science fiction television series that first aired in 1963 and has since become a significant part of British popular culture. Created by Sydney Newman and produced by the BBC, the show follows the adventures of the Doctor, a time-traveling alien known as a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels through time and space in his TARDIS – a blue police box that is much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. The show originally ran for 26 seasons before being canceled in 1989, but was revived in 2005 to critical acclaim and has continued to be successful ever since. Doctor Who has featured multiple actors playing the Doctor over the years, with each incarnation bringing their own unique interpretation to the role. The show has amassed a dedicated fan base known as Whovians, who eagerly await each new episode and special event tied to this beloved sci-fi franchise.
